About BT Broadband

BT (British Telecommunications) is the UK's original telecoms provider and remains the market leader in home broadband. BT Group is moving its consumer broadband to the EE brand, with BT increasingly focused on business customers, so many new home broadband deals are now sold under EE. Packages range from Superfast Fibre (FTTC) through to full fibre (FTTP) speeds. BT runs its consumer broadband over the Openreach network — the same physical infrastructure used by Sky, Plusnet and TalkTalk — meaning the speed you get depends heavily on your local cabinet or full-fibre availability.

All speed data is sourced from real user tests submitted to BroadbandSpeedTest.uk.com. Speeds shown are median values — not averages — making them resilient to outliers. Minimum 3 tests required for an ISP to appear. Last updated hourly.
